Recovery from eyelid surgery will depend on whether you have the procedure performed on the upper or lower lids, or both in combination. Most patients can expect some temporary swelling and bruising in the eyelid areas; however, this usually dissipates quickly. Your eyes will be lubricated with a medicinal cream following surgery. Most patients are able to resume normal daily routines within just a few days following the procedure. Results from eyelid surgery are immediately noticeable, although it may take weeks for the final result to become apparent.
