Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia, a very common condition among men that causes a build-up of excess fat and tissue in the chest, can be treated with male breast reduction procedures from our board-certified plastic surgeon. Gynecomastia often begins in adolescence and can cause a severe lack of self-esteem. Although it is not known what specifically causes gynecomastia, a number of factors may contribute to the development of the condition, including: heredity; recent weight loss or gain; the use of certain prescription medications, anabolic steroids, or herbal testosterone additives; liver function problems; the natural aging process; or, in some cases, gynecomastia may develop for no discernible reason at all. Dr. Stafford Broumand offers advanced treatment for this condition in a very discrete environment. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest standards of safety and privacy. With male breast reduction, you can achieve effective reduction of excess fat and tissue in the breasts for a renewed appearance in the chest.
Male Breast Reduction Recovery and Results
Most patients are able to resume normal daily routines within a few days after male breast reduction surgery. There will be some degree of temporary swelling in the treatment area during recovery; however, any discomfort can be controlled with medication. Strenuous activity and heavy lifting will need to be avoided for two weeks after surgery.
You will likely notice immediate results after male breast reduction surgery, and they should become even more apparent during recovery. The effects of this treatment for gynecomastia can often be maintained for many years with a healthy diet and regular exercise routine.
